Didn’t water used to be free?
It’s funny to joke about our obsession with bottled water, but today I’m challenging you to: Drink fancy water with lemon (or mint, cucumber, lime, or fruit of choice).
Like yesterday’s challenge to take a walk, there are two sides to this recommendation.
- Water is exceptionally good for you.
- When you drink water, it displaces less nutritious choices that contain empty calories, too much sugar, and artificial ingredients
Why Does it Need to Be Fancy?
Here’s the other other side: What is your attitude about eating, and drinking, healthy?
If you have to eat healthy or be “on a diet”, you may envision plain, tasteless steamed broccoli and dry chicken breast.
No carbs, no sugar, no fun.
On the other hand, when you “cheat”, you get to indulge in the good stuff!
As I’ve said before, if you want long-term health and weight maintenance your mindset has to shift to cultivating long-term lifestyle habits, not being on a cycle of either on or off a diet.
So make the good stuff, the nutritious stuff, taste delicious and be a great experience.
- Experiment with new vegetables
- Add variety to your salads
- Eat off the china plates
- Drink fancy water!
You might like water, lime, mint, or fresh fruit in your water, but there are specific benefits to lemon including
