Amazingly, our body is sometimes able to function well in spite of negative stress and poor nutrition. When given optimal fuel, work, and rest, it can surpass expectations and exceed limits.
The body is a beautiful, complicated creation.
We must remember that the best solution is not always to eat less & move more – it’s to find the right balance.
Not much has changed since the times of Hippocrates (c. 460 BC-370 BC). It’s especially difficult to find a healthy balance in our current culture that has
- food within reach every second
- modern conveniences that decrease our activity levels
- an excessive number of options
When in doubt, keep it simple. Whole foods and moderate exercise.
Remember to find the sweet spot of not too much, and not too little, but just right.
